Internship authorisation & acknowledgement BA/MA History, BA/MA Sociology, MA Sociology of Inequality

For the internship acknowledgment (4, 8 or 30 ECTS, depending on your study programme and examination regulations) you are required to do the following:

Before the Internship

  • Compulsory counselling at the Internship Office or via zoom. You are welcome to select some internships in advance. All students have to clarify in advance if the chosen internship is suitable for authorisation and acknowledgment according to the Department’s criteria.
  • Apply for internship positions after the compulsory counselling. Students get support and advice through the internship coordinator. You can find internships offers in the departmental internship database ("Praktikapool" -> Praktikumsstellen). Additionally, internship reports of fellow students can also be found online for consultation („Praktikapool“ -> Berichte durchsuchen).
  • Fill out the preliminary report about the internship you are going to do. The preliminary report must be submitted as PDF via email to the Internship Office 2 weeks before your internship starts at the latest. The internship is then going to be authorised through the internship coordinator.

During the internship

  • In case of problems at the workplace, the internship coordinator can be contacted for support or consultation via email or phone any time.
  • Before finishing your internship, remember to fill out the employer confirmation sheet and ask your employer to stamp and sign it.

After the internship

  • Fill out the final report online and upload it via the internship database („Praktikapool“-> Bericht abgeben). Your final report must be uploaded within 6 weeks after you have finished your internship.
  • Forward the employer confirmation sheet with the stamp and signature of your employer to the internship coordinator as PDF via email.
  • Schedule an appointment for the final counselling with the internship coordinator.
  • The internship coordinator is going to acknowledge your internship provided you have followed all the steps described above. The internship is going to be recorded in ZEuS (4, 8 or 30 ECTS, according to the study programme and the examination regulations).
